Buckmaster’s Circle consists of 195 non-profit housing units. The development was constructed in the mid-1960’sby the Federal Housing Agency, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. The property was administered by the St. John’s Authority until the early ’70s when Newfudland and Labrador Housing Corporation assumed responsibility for the Housing Authority’s portfolio.
The Buckmaster’s Circle Community Centre was created by converting three housing units. In addition to providing a place for the local tenant association to meet and to offer various support programs, the facility is also the home to a branch of the St. John’s Boys and Girls Clubs.
Serving close to 600 residents, the Centre makes a concerted effort to work closely with other organizations in and around St. John’s to ensure resources are shared. In this manner, the community is certain to receive the best possible programs and services.
